I have a Win XP box with Office 2003. I use Outlook Connector to pull
Hotmail into my Desktop. I tried the POP3 settings that MS recently posted,
but that's a mess! It just combines my Hughes and Hotmail messages into one
Inbox. I reverted to the normal MAPI account settings, and everything works
fine. Will I be able to continue using Outlook Connector after September
1st, or will I be forced to look for another solution? Meshed POP3 accounts
is not an option.
I did consider moving to Windows Live Mail (Desktop) for all needs, because
that program keeps the accounts separate like Outlook Express. Windows Live
Mail would provide a better calendar than my current, 3rd party program, and
would also let me use the same program for News. However, I have some mail
folders in Outlook that I need to maintain, and also have a pretty extensive
contacts list there. It appears that you cannot import Outlook .pst files
into Windows Live Mail (Desktop). Is that correct?
Are there other options I'm missing? I'll likely upgrade everything when
Windows 7 releases. I could always rebuild my Contacts list in another
program, but really want to keep my old e-mail messages intact.
Thanks,
Jim
