Should have clarified a bit more...

Looking to find screw spacing on a 5.25" bay and the height and width of a
standard half height bay.

I'm at work right now and have no tape measure. I'm trying to lay something
out on paper.

OK, I'll lend you mine. From "front" end (end with power/ide ribbon)
from 1st to middle hole :pitch...42mm. To next hole:60mm. Overall
length:141mm. Breadth;102mm. Thick:26mm.
Now after all that strenuous measuring stuff...............I'm going
back to bed!!!! :-)

If you're looking to make this yourself I recommend you take
a sheet of cardboard, fold it to fit in the case bay, then
mark the screw hole positions onto the cardboard with a
marker. You then have a complete template to mark, cut and
drill the metal. Don't forget to add a small amount to
counter any shrinkage if you're using a metal brake to bend
the metal, since thin cardboard may bend tighter than the
metal would in some situations.

So far as dimensions I have a spare optical drive here that
I"ll measure.

Width: 146mm
Height: 42mm

Distance from system case bezel plane (front of optical
drive, the plastic piece with the buttons and tray, etc) to
the center of the first screw hole on the side: 52mm

Distance from center of first to center of 2nd screw hole:
80mm

Minimum depth of the housing in order to be able to screw in
the last hole on a hard drive, 125mm (a 145mm long drive
will stick out past the end by 20mm) OR add another 3cm or
so to allow for adding a 1" thick fan with a few mm between
the fan and drive end).

Do you really need to get 3 drives into 2 slots or 4 into 3?
If not the easier solution is to just buy the adapter
brackets for about $3 or less per set.
