Back to the drawing boards on trying to get my two home pcs into file
sharing. Here's the deal so far:

1. The two computers are hooked together through a Linksys switch/router.

2. One is running Win 98, the other Win XP.

3. I think my Win XP computer is copacetic with the file sharing thing.

4. I can't seem to get my Win 98 computer to be in a file sharing mode

What other software/hardware might I need to activate file sharing?

When I try to turn file sharing on in my Win 98 computer, it gets to the
point where it asks me for the Windows 98 CD. I don't have that CD. What
are my alternatives?

You will probably need to borrow a 98 CD. It is looking for files. You
might find some of them on the 'net. If your machine is a mass produced
machine, these files might also be on your hard drive already in folder
called win98 or \windows\options\cabs. Some times if you tell the installer
it is \windows or \windows\system, it can find the files as well.

You really need to have a 98 cd. You could be in trouble in the case of a
major system problem that required reinstallation or rerunning setup.
