What am I installing?

The last few days, when I try to open Outlook 2002, I get a popup with a
progress bar as if something is being installed. After this I get a
popup with "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD or removable
disk." Since I do not know what is trying to install, I hit 'Cancel.'
Outlook then closes.
To my knowledge, I want to install nothing. How do I eliminate this and
get Outlook to open?

Assuming you are running Windows 2000/XP, you can check the
application/system event logs. The MSI engine always logs what
feature/component is being installed/repaired.

Best guess at this point is you need to let the repair complete so Outlook
can start.

Sorry for the slow reply.
Umm, where is the application/system event log?

Right click on my computer > manage > expand system tools > event viewer.

You can also get there via control panel > administrative tools > event
viewer
or
start > run > eventvwr.msc > ok button
