What am I doing wrong?

I'm in the process of hopefully making a website. I have quite a bit of it
done and I've uploaded it to my test site. Upon viewing it online though it's
moved around! My banner is larger than I have it set for. The left margin
seems to be non-existent upon viewing it online. I know this is something
probably quite simple but I'm still fairly new to all of this. So any help
would be greatly appreciated!

My page can be found at http://www.kingforassembly.com/testing/

(Offline, I have everything set to appear between the two rows of sunflowers
that are running down the sides of the page.)

Why don't you try a table no wide than 760 and the big part of the banner
into a gif so it doesn't get too large and cover over the right side border
flowers. Just for fun try a table at 95% rather than 100% to see what
happens. Let's see what others suggest??

1. For starters, the Copperplate Copper bold font is not going to be seen
unless the user has that font installed. Here is where you can find a list
of fonts that will be seen by most.:

2. You have used too many absolute width characteristics. On my 20 inch
monitor, I can just barely see the whole page width. In tables, use
percentages rather than the absolute values.

This website is a ms template. Do you mean by "absolute values" that I've
use too many specific measurements for the margins? That's the only thing
I've changed. Sorry if that's a dumb, but I'm still new to some of this.

One thing that's not helping is the background image is only 900 px wide so
you get the sunflower column appearing on the right. In an image editor you
could cut off a slice of the patterned area and and make it wider so the bg
image is wider. Or just eliminate the bg image altogether. You could also
put your content in a fixed table that would help, and if the table were
narrow enough (like 760px) you could make it work with the bg image as it
is...I didn't do the math on this so you'lll have to experiment.

A few more ideas, if I may.
Don't (means never) use all CAPS for text.
Don't (means never) use underlines unless you want a link.
Don't use such a distracting background where you want your text to be seen
and read.
Find another way to do a photo gallery... the FP component is not good and
very amateurish. See this article for suggestions:
http://www.eleanorstravels.com/PhotoGalleryPrograms/index.htm and:

The whole thing looks like a 'corny' template, and is too feminine.
Start over with no template and a nice clean page. Forget the flowers! It IS
important for your
client's message to be read, I would think.
Sorry if I 'rained on your parade'!

Well seing how my "client" (ya i wish i was being paid for all the work!) is
a family member who just so happens to be a farmer! I guess corny fits! lol
She raised sunflowers so the background is by her request as is the caps and
underlines. She wanted something different from the usual boring old
political website. I'm just trying my best to accommodate her the best I can,
since I'm no pro webmaster! Thank you for your help and ideas.

Steve, thank you! I uploaded the whole thing to my web site which isn't
hosted at godaddy and it works just fine. Thanks for the suggestion.

Can you politely tell her that what she wants is too amateurish and 'cute'
and certainly not professional?? I hope so!

all caps, underlining, over use of bold, and of course...exclamation
points..all amatuerish - imo
