What access rights does the remote user require?

On a fully patched XP Pro machine in a domain, I am unable to logon due to access rights being not being granted (I'm a domain admin and a local machine admin). I've followed all the instructions on giving rights to to the remote user, but nothing is letting me authenticate. Does someone have the info on which DACLs need to be flipped on? Thanks

What are you trying to authenticate to? Remote Desktop,
a network share, an admin share, something else?
The answer varies based on what it is.

Since you seem to have setup everything right. It may not even be a
domain access (user seucrity) problem, it could be that you have some
firewall that is blocking stuff - and it would still give you error
messages that make it sound like a user security issue.

For Remote Desktop, you user account (or a group you are a member of)
must be a member of the Remote Desktop Users Group. If this doesn't
improve your situation, you need to verify that the Remote Desktop
Users group (and/or your user account) has the "Allow Logon through
Terminal Services" user right (under Group Policy - gpedit.msc)
