I restore PC PC using the restore CD and OS CD provided by HP. I manually
downloaded and installed SP4. I then went to Windows Update and installed
Microsoft Update. I received some warning baout IE5. I eventual came to a
page after running an express scan regarding Genuine Wiondows Software and
nthe need to vlaidate. I stall here. I even tried validate an alternate
way. The page just sits there. One note I'm running IE5. I usually update
via Microsoft Update. Any ideas on this. I've never seen this before.

Hello George,

To get it right, you always get the info about the IE5? Ithink you have to
upgrade to IE6 SP1 and then try it again.

Best regards

I've never had to do that in the past. In fat I rebuit a PC in the same way
two days ago and never had this issue. I tan the WGA diag tool and it tells
me my oS is unsupported which is clear not possible. I believe this is
probably related to WGA. Any thoughts on this.
