Western Digital hard drive

I got a new WD drive that I set up as the slave. Using
their software, I transferred a number of files from the
old drive to it. I then disconnected it and reinstalled
XP on the new drive. I reconnected it and now I can't
retrieve any of the files I transferred. Any help? (And
to be more specific, I can't retrieve the files that I
transferred using their software. Some files I copied
and pasted before reformatting the old drive I can
access.)
