We have shared an excel spreadsheet with multiple workbooks. It is in a file
on a share server. We have upwards of ten users in the spreadsheet at any
time updating information. The symptoms is that one user will get the
following message: 'Your changes could not be saved to 'Renewal Tracking
Chart.xls', but were saved to a temporary document named 18D7A350. Close the
existing document, then open the temporary document and save it under a new
name.' When we select OK, we're thrown out of the shared spreadsheet and any
other user then notices that the [Shared] designation is removed from their
screen and they get a message that the document cannot be saved and are
thrown out of it too. When we try to reneame the temp doc, we can't. We're
loosing our changes on a regular basis. IT is restoring the previous backed
up copy but cannot shed any light on why this is happening
