WEP key problem

ok well at my house we have a main comp and 2 others.. my
comp is Win xp and the otehr that my mom uses is 2000 the
main comp is xp as well i well i can not use a WEP key
pass phrase it tells me it has it has to be 40bits or
104bits and has to be in hexadecimal form or ascii
codes. wut can i do to put in the WEP passphrase

A passphrase is just an easy way to generate an actual WEP key. Some,
but not all, network adapters can use a passphrase. It's likely that
you can use a passphrase only if all of these are true:

1. All of the network adapters on all of the computers support it.

2. All of the network adapters are from the same manufacturer.

3. You configure each computer's wireless settings using the wireless
network adapter manufacturer's wireless utility program, not Windows
XP's built-in Wireless Zero Configuration feature.

Windows XP built it wireless zero config uses HEX or ASCII. Setup your
wireless encryption with a HEX key and use that.
