I have a D-Link 614+ wireless router and am using a D-Link 520+ wireless
adapter in my second machine. The only way I can enter a WEP encryption key
on the adapter is through the utility that came with the card. I could not
find a way to do it through XP Pro. Am I correct then that XP does not
provide for WEP encryption through the operating system, or is there a way
to do it? Thanks.

Open services and scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration Service,
Start the service and set it to automatic. If it does not show in the
list of Services:

run regedit and find

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WZCSVC

add a DWORD entry named "Start" and
value "2"

you should then be able to specify the WEP key
