I inadvertantly did a system recovery instead of a system restore the other
day..and XP created a folder called Owner in C:Document and Settings
\owner\...I can find my original profile ( C:Documents and Settings\Larry in
Docs/settings, but don't know how to get back to using my original profile
instead of "Owner"..any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks, Larry

Hi,

You can't. The system recovery disk basically created a new installation,
and the "Larry" account is not part of it. However, if the user profile
folders still exist, you can create a new account and copy the old "Larry"
into it.

Note that one step not listed in the article is that after creating the
destination profile you must log into it once first to create the necessary
file structure before you do the copy procedure.

simply copy "application data" folder and ur my documents and desktop to ur
present account or a new account u cannot do this from within the account u
can do this by creating a temp admin account for the process.

Hope this helps...,
