I have noticed people mentioning a name appearing on the Welcome screen.
When my machine starts up it just says Welcome my name isn't showing. Did I
miss something on loading XP Home or is it because there is only me using
the computer so I don't log on or anything.

Lynn, this only comes up if you have installed .NET Framework.

Hi Lynn,

You can change the way you log on downloading tweakUI, which is part
of XP Power toys, and looking in the log on section.
