I recently installed some updates for XP and now every time I start up, the welcome screen appers (and my user account does not have a password). I need to know how to turn this off!
I recently installed some updates for XP and now every time I start up, the welcome screen appers (and my user account does not have a password). I need to know how to turn this off!
the update you installed (the .NET 1.1 update, right?) created a new user
account, ASP.NET.
because the system now has two accounts it presents the welcome screen to
let you choose (even tho the ASP.NET account may not actually be on the
welcome screen!).
you can do one of two things: delete that ASP.NET account, it really
isn't needed unless you're a programmer and need it to test out some .NET
stuff, or use TweakUI to auto-logon your account. I'd recommend the
later. If you don't have tweakUI, then get it! Everyone should have it:
