Hi It was the case that the welcome screen appeared an opened and off I
went.
Now My small dog picture appears and I have too log in, I don't think I
altered settings.
Since I have tried to alter log- in details, but I can't get back to the
original, it is easy to make matters worse, but not better.
What am I Missing???????
thanks in advance

Ken

Hi Ken,

Install any updates recently? Specifically the .net framework? It creates a
new account, so WinXP pauses to see which one you want. By pass it this way:

Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.

If you have XP goto users in control panel, you should be
admin; remove password, deactivate guest. If not XP,
remove ms client from network definition.

Thanks Lads
Your remedy worked Rick
For some reason it wiped nearly all the short cut icons from the desk
top, but they where soon replaced
Thanks again, would never have found that solution with out your help.
