Is there a way to do away with the welcome screen or sign
in screen to windows when the computer boots up.. I would
like it to go directly to my desktop with no user name or
password to deal with... I have the welcome screen coming
up now and it shows my username and I can click on enter
and my password is already in but I would like to NOT
have that screen come up at all... Please give me STEP by
Step if you can... thank you so much

First go into User Accounts in the control panel and select "Change the way
users log on and off". On the next screen uncheck "Use the welcome screen".
This will revert it to the logon style that was used in Windows 2000.

If you are still asked for a password, go to Start, Run and type

CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2

Uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password.." and click
Apply. A box will pop up asking for the user name and the password for the
account you wish to automatically be logged into. Enter this information and
click OK. From then on it should no longer ask you to log in when starting
Windows.

Hi,

To automatically log-on to Windows, type CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 at Start >> Run and press enter. Under the "User" tab,
uncheck the box "Users must enter a username...." and hit apply. Supply the username and password under which you want
your computer to Auto-logon everytime and OK your way out.
