Hello:
I have an OEM version of WindowsXP and I am the only user of my
computer. I never FORMALY set up user accounts, although I am aware
that XP automatically sets up an administrator/owner account at
install.
When I started windows in the past---until a day or so ago, I get the
welcome screen and then the system boots automatically to the GUI---no
log in! I like it this way.
The other day, I installed several XP updates to the computer, and now
at the welcome screen---I see my administrator account and must click
on it to get to the GUI. Now I know that this is part of WIN XP
security but I prefer to go automaticllay to the welcome screen. I
really do not want to use system restore to remove the updates---one
of them must have made a setting change to cause this!
Does anyone know how to turn this back on; that is---how to go
directly to the GUI w/o the log-in?
thx
