hi guys,

a little problem that has only started to occur the past
few days.
when I boot up it no longer gives me the welcome screen
where I select my user name. I am the sole user on the
system. Also since this started to occur the network icon
in the start bar doesnt appear, it was there this morning
and after shutting down and rebooting later today the
icon is hidden, even though in the network properties
shows it as being shown and the start menu opens are on
show always.
I'm using XP Pro with SP1.
what I must explain is that there was in my users list my
user name, guest (unactive) and also a user named
something along the lines of AC-PC user, it wasnt
anything I had set up though.
Any ideas how to get my welcome screen back and stop this
icon from vanisihing?

Thnx for any advice.

Ice

I'm trying to use the new XP style welcome screen with
the user icon picture.
I never had the guest option on before or a password set
and it always gave me the welcome screen and I had to
click my icon to get in. now it just bypasses this
completely and auto loads windows.

What are you booting to? Auto-Logon or the W2K style?

I had removed the profile set up by .net 1.1 and since I
reinstalled this the screen comes up again, my advice
dont remove the profile that this sets up. now if I could
only get it to save my hide icon settings I weould be
happy.

Hi,

Those options/settings can be corrected here:
