Hi,
I just finished installing Windows XP Professional and
then I did al the updates and patches but I have one big
problem.

I can not get the welcome screen to come up. When I go to
control panels and try to reconfigure I get an error
message saying that I don't have that option because of
Client Services for Netware has been set to prohibit that
feature and it has to be deleted before I can configure to
show the Welome screen with my user accounts..

First of all I don't know how I got that netware, I have
no idea where it is (I have looked and looked)so that I
can uninstall it. Please help!!!

Hello Butch,

Did you receive an "Error Message When You Try to Turn On
Welcome Screen or Fast User Switching" ?

When I go [Start] | Help and Support |
client services for netware [Enter]

I get "Microsoft Knowledge Base (0 results)".

However, when I search for "client services netware"

I get "Microsoft Knowledge Base (15 results)".

Under "Technical Articles", I see
"5. Error Message When You Try to Turn On Welcome Screen
or Fast User Switching", which is "Microsoft Knowledge
Base Article: 315347". If it turns out that you need
to visit http://support.novell.com, then I suggest that
you go directly to

http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search
/searchtid.cgi?/10013922.htm

(the preceding two lines should be joined to form the
hyperlink) to read the article:

"Remove the Novell Client from Windows NT/2000/XP".

It took me more than one hour of mucking around over
there to find this document, so this tip will save you
a bit of time.

Good luck,

Jan
