When I start up XP, the welcome screen prompts me to pick one of two User
Accounts that exist on my laptop. Beneath one of the two users, there is a
link that says "____ new mail messages", and when I run my mouse over that
link, a dialog box pops up that lists my Hotmail address, and how many unread
messages there are in my inbox. [The other username is fine -- it just lists
the username, and if I click on it I log in as that user -- and there is no
message
underneath that username listing any pending emails.]
How do I get rid of this link/message underneath the username, when logging
in? I believe this is a Windows Messenger / .NET Passport problem, but not
sure how to fix it. It seems like I'm "already" logged into MSN/.NET
Passport or Hotmail, but I don't want to "already" be logged in.
I attempted to go to "Control Panel" --> "User Accounts" --> "Pick and
Account to Change", but am not sure where to go from there. It appears to
allow me to configure .NET Passport to *initiate* this abililty (to already
be logged in to .NET Passport), but doesn't explain how to "undo" it.
I guess one option would be to delete this User Account, and re-create it
using the other User Account (both are Computer Administrators), but I don't
know if that would cause me to lose files.
Help?
