My Welcome screen turned off when I chose to have my computer (Dell Latitude
400; XP Pro w/SP3) start up running Explorer. No problem there. But when I
ended this practice, the Welcome screen did not restore. When I go to User
Accounts to the select Logon & Logoff options, the choices are preemptively
disabled by a screen saying "Client Services for Netware has disabled the
Welcome screen and Fast User Switching. To restore these features you must
uninstall Client Services for Netware." I have no idea what this is, where it
is or how to uninstall it. Any guidance out there? Many thanks in advance.

Client Services for Netware? So is your host in a domain? If so, you
don't get to use the Welcome Screen. In a domain, you get the classic
login dialog.

Take a look at this Microsoft article. Steps 2 through 9 should resolve the
problem.
