Re: Insert|Picture vs. Format|AutoShape (no line, transparent) .....Fill
Effects|Picture

I welcome any input on the pros and cons of using (A) Insert|Picture and (B)
Format|AutoShape....Picture respectively. This can help me determine which
is a better method to use under different circumstances.

If there is animation involved, I prefer the latter method. This is because
if I want to change the picture, I don't have to redo the animation; don't
even have to go with the "save as htm" route.

If I have to include an image in the footer area (especially the number
placeholder), the former method may be better. This way I don't have to
remember to tick the "slide number" checkbox in the header and footer
dialogue box.

If you have any ideas or experience that you want to share, I would
appreciate hearing them. If you think that I am on the wrong track, feel
free to let me know.

Appreciate guidance.

Same goes for compression: Using the built in compression from Format
Pictures will not compress autoshape fills....

Insert|Picture photos can be cropped. Format|Autoshape pictures cannot.

As Echo says you cant crop fill pictures and the transparent colour tool is
not available, also you may get problems if you link to pictures . You can
compress pictures in fills though as long as they're jpegs.
