Sometime during the past week I became plagues by an annoying problem with my
new Compaq Presario. I am running XP, service pack installed, Norton
Antivirus and nothing else special.

When I begin typing nothing seems wrong, Then as I begin building up a head
of steam, the cursor arbitrarily jumps to some erroneous spot on the page and
continues typing my text. I will type an example of the result:

"When I begin typing nothing seems wrong. Then as I begin building up a

Sometimes it arbitrarily jumps to another WINDOW!

I thought: Key-tracker, virus, or something, but I cannot find an example of
this behavior among worm, tracker, trojan horse, or virus behaviors. Before
I wipe my system and re-install, I am here pleading my case. Any ideas? Has
anyone experienced this annoying situation?

I have wiped spyware with Ad-aware, Panda, and Spybot.

Ah! Answered my own question.

I installed usb wireless mouse and keyboard software about ten days ago.
Apparently it overwrote, mangled or destroyed the trackpad/pointer software
for the noteboook. Reinstalled the pointer device drivers and I am OK.

This must have occurred to other hapless victims of Microsoft's USN Mouse
and Keyboard drivers...
