Lately, I've been receiving random errors on "Application Error" "memory
could not be read/written". When trying to install a game with its default
directory ("c:\program files\e-games\ran_ph") I would get that error but
when I try removing "_ph" from "ran_ph" It installed quickly. Could someone
help here pls. Thanks

typical of RAM problems

run a RAM test or substitute with known good RAM

sometimes you can just clock down the RAM a bit to get your system
stable

Check Event Viewer for errors. What happens if you logon as a new user?
(create a new account in 'User and Passwords'). Try a Safe Mode boot. Also
try a clean boot.

Clean boot = no non-microsoft services at startup, no third party apps at
startup.

Could also be caused by some third-party shell extension. This tool may also
help.

I don't think its RAM. It happened to all 20 computers on LAN. I also
sometimes get this error when exiting some games. This is driving me crazy.
