A week ago, I noticed some weird stuff going on with my
IE browser. Whenever I go on a page, a few select words
in the text are always linked to something called the New
Technology (NT) search engine, instead of to their real
URL.

How do I get rid of this?

Jess-

Do a start>find (or search)> files and folders and look for an sp.exe

If you have that, it is at the root of this problem BHO parasite. If you
have HijackThis, run it and see if it detects the presence of: O4 -
HKCU\..\Run: [sp] C:\sp.exe If it does, have HijackThis clean that.

If you don't have HijackThis then run the TaskManager, and stop the running
process of sp.exe . Find all instances of sp.exe on your machine and delete
them.

Hi Jess :)

In conjunction wtih the information provided by LuckyStrike, you might want
to download and install the BHODemon program, as it monitors the Browser
parasites and such that can cause these types of programs.

......as well as the SpywareBlaster, which will help keep pests from getting
a firm hold on your system:

You might also frequent this location to check your system for parasites and
other types of scumware that can cause various problems:

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
