That is a classic example of over driving a monitor, however I can't see how
you could over drive the monitor with a 640X480 pic.......weird!!!
But Ben is right, just disable it, I HATE not knowing what is going on
during boot. I diabled mine right off the bat!

on A7N8X Deluxe covers up any initial (startup) messages that are
being presented, like bios version, memory check progress, etc.

How do I get rid of this screen?

Thanks. That did it. Somehow that selection is just off the bottom
of the screen. Once I could see the power-up progress I solved
another problem.

Temporarily: Hit tab
Permanantly: Advanced BIOS Settings -> Full Screen Logo Show -> Off

Boy those deluxe boards sure have a lot little quirks, the more posts I
see the better I fell about buying the non-dlx version, I haven't had
any problems , but then again there's a lot less to go wrong on this
board too I guess! :)

I have two DLX. One with a fancy AGP card the other with a $5 PCI
video card and neither one ever looked like that.

There is always that 1 out of 100 boards that never passed QC but still
ends up in a box and on a shelf, so far I've been lucky, out of about 2
dozen boards over the years I haven't gotten a bad one yet. I'm well
over due and my turn will come, it's just a mater of time! ;p

Cheers,
Ed

I take that back, couple years ago I was building a PC for a friend and
got a Shuttle board that had troubles with his ram so I exchanged it for
a MSI (same chipset) and all was well, built two more systems after that
with the same board without any problems.
Haven't tried another shuttle board since. ;p

His problem was probably the monitor not syncing for some reason rather than
the motherboard.

LOL.... Does Ben get paid enough for his time?

I suspect you are getting that screen b/c the monitor is an old
monitor incapable sync'ing on the refresh rate used for the splash
screen. Is the monitor an old 60Hz Refresh VGA monitor?

Should fine, that display should be at 60Hz refresh.

I had this, or similar, with my Matrox P750/Mitsubishi 900U (75Mhz)
combination. There's a fix on the Matrox site that flashes the Matrox
bios.
