Weird sounds in XP Pro

Hi,

I've been experiencing this for a few days:

1/ When I resume from deep sleep mode, just before the login screen
shows up, I can hear the sound of an explosion in my loudspeakers.
Question: does any known virus do such a thing ?
Or might it come from Kerio firewall since it seems this >boom< sound
appeared some time after I installed it ?

2/ I don't know what I've messed with Media Player, but now all my
sounds have a deep echo effect, including the default Windows sounds!!!
Dunno how to stop this: I've deactivated all the sound effects (WOW and
equalizer) in WMP and it's still here.
