Hi everyone,
I posted this in general section but i thought it might be security related
problem so im posting it here too. I have a folder with several word files i
have uses a macro to change company's name in those file , now all names
have changed to a new name but when i use windows search and use the old name
to search in those files all of them show up. ( basically windows search
tells me all the files still have the privios words in them which is not
correct) how can this happen and what is the reason? by the way i didn't have
writing access to this folder until IT gave me access to run this macro.

When a Word Document is set to "quick save," any information you write into
the file is appended; not over written. The data is probably still there, but
Word is skipping over it during display. Look around in Word's options and
set the file to do a full-save, and Word should write only the current data
into the document when you click Save. In effect, doing so should make he
old names vanish.

Thank you Vinson for your response. Well acctually it was very intersting for
me to find out the reason. Since I was dealing with the company's name it was
in each files properties summary section so although i changed it in word
text Windows search still was looking at everything in those files including
the properties and summary section ! ( I didn't know until now that search
works in this manner)
