Weird relationship window problem

This is odd.

I clicked "Show All Relationships" and one table showed up off-screen above
the upper edge of the window.

I know it's there because the relationship line still goes up there, but I
can't modify it, because I can't actually see the table, and if I add the
table again, it shows up as "tbl_notes 1", and then "Show All..." shows
relationships to both "tbl_notes" and "tbl_notes 1" tables. How do I move or
delete this off-screen table?

(I had this happen on my work computer to my Norton System Doctor, and I
ended up having to re-install the app.)
 
Unless your Relationship diagram is complex, the simplest solution is to
delete all of the table in RelationShip window view and then Add them all
back.

Alternatively, there is a utility on my site that can fix this issue. Just
import the form and module into your own MDB.

One quick and dirty option is to use the keyboard. Open the relationships
window; click on any visible table; and carefully remove your had from the
mouse. Press the TAB key, watching the screen to see what table icon is
highlighted. At some point it will tab to the offscreen table (and *nothing*
will be highlighted).

At that point you can press the Delete key to delete the icon from the
relationships window (don't worry, this won't affect any relationships); then
use the Add Table tool to add the table back in.

I'm having a very similar problem.

If you drag a table too far up, and you get the table's title bar up
underneath the ribbon, you can't grab it and move it anywhere. I've tried
all kinds of things, but I can't figure out anything else to do except delete
that table and start over.

I can't figure out how to report this bug to microsoft either. I think you
have to pay them to report bugs! haha!

Again... try opening the relationships window; select some table that is
displayed; and keep clicking the Tab key (leaving the mouse strictly alone)
until the focus goes to the off-screen table. You can then delete and readd
it.

Thanks, my relationship table is quite complex, I believe I have about 100
tables, so deleting them is not an option.

I downloaded your utility, but it didn't quite do the trick either. I am
using Access 2000. Does that make a difference?
 
thank you, it works, but it is quite tedious with about 100 tables.

It is better than deleting everything tand starting over for such a silly
problem.
 
Update: yep, worked like a charm. I found that, since the missing tables
escaped to the top of the screen, clicking on one of the very bottom tables
on the diagram made it only a few tabs until I got to the off screen ones.

The Web page I pointed you to clearly states that this solution is for
windows off the Left edge of the parent Relationship window. You would have
to change one line of code to have it work with windows off the top edge of
the parent Relationship window.

I'm in the middle of producing a Tool to allow you to modify the table
windows within the Relationship view. It fixes any individual window coords
that are negative.

If you use the tab method, as suggested previously, then select from the menu 'Relationships -> Hide Table' then use show table again, you can get it back on screen without deleting the table.
