Hi,

I recently brought my old P3 system (GA-6OX motherboard) into use again
after sitting unused for several months..

At first I put in a PCI video card as I took the AGP one out before I put
the system.. weird issues with that and couldn't get any further than the
initial windows GUI..

Today I got a 2nd hand AGP card (lowly 8MB thing), and tried to boot the
system.. at first I got nothing.. then after clearing the cmos, all I get
is a pulsing noise from the PC speaker.. The power led blinks rapidly in
time with this pulsing too..

I have pulled everything from the system and I'm down to cpu and 1 stick
PC133 RAM.. still I get the pulsing !
(Once I get it to beep normally from the missing video card (4 beeps from
memory), I'll take it from there..)

I searched google and found only 1 occurance of my problem, that was someone
using another gigabyte board, but there were no replies..

Has anyone seen this ?

Regards,
Chris

Couple more things I tried:

No RAM - still get the pulsing noise, no difference
swap CPU - again no difference
no CPU - nothing (as I would expect)

Chris

Offhand I'd guess that your power supply is dying.

Tried swapping power supplies, no difference at all..

What is the source of the "pulsing noise"?
