Hey all-
Just got DSL, sharing it between two computers via wireless LAN setup
(WinXP, IE 6, etc etc ALL UPDATES INSTALLED). Works fine,
except
CERTAIN links (and I do not know the distinguishing criteria for these
links, it seems random, whether it is a page, a file, etc) request a dial-up
connection (our old one is still present in case trouble w/DSL...rather
ironic?):
1)browse the internet normally, from link to link
2)click on a link
3)XP DUN window pops up
4)close window, go offline, try again, same thing every time w/these certain
links!
What is funny is the DUN connection is set to "never dial a connection"
WHY OH WHY is IE requesting it w/certain seemingly random links?? It makes
them completely inaccessible just because IE is being a stubborn ass.
Any suggestions/solutions?
Thanks,
Ethan
