Weird Problem with Pages!

Here's the deal. I have a site folder where I've been maintaining our
Intranet site.
The problem is at some point these pages no longer use relative referencing!!

For example; When I type the code in and reference either an include page,
or a style sheet it looks like this: "../../../../PHDMaster.css"

However, when I click the save button or move out of the code window onto
the design window, it turns into this: "file:///PHDMaster.css"

No matter what I do it turns back. This is really frustrating. Here's the
important thing to know. At somepoint, this page used to work!!! I've had
other folders do this before, and the quick fix was to move the page out of
the subfolder where it is and up one level. Why is this happening?

Could it be that these folders should be all site folders?

Make sure that you have first use File Menu | Open Web / Site before you open any pages.

Thank you very much.

This is what I do. I open frontpage, I click "Open Site", I find the site
folder with the little globe on it and click the "Open" button.

It opens up and I go to work. Now, I understand what you are recommending,
but this problem happens on only certain files. I find that if the folders
go down several levels, this begins to happen.

So, yes, I do open the site and not just the folders.

What else could it be?

The only other possibility is if you mistakenly browsed out side of the root folder
when creating the link.

At any rate, try this.
Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with Expression Web Designer and
SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

Then open your web and recalculate hyperlinks.

See if it helps.
