Weird paste problem in Outlook 2000

I've got a system running Windows XP SP1, with Outlook 2000 SP3.

Also installed, in case they are relevant to the problem, are Cloudmark
Spamnet, Scansoft's PDF Converter, and Write Express' High Impact Email
product.

When I copy something (text, graphics, whatever) from an HTML email, and
try to paste it to a new email, rather than seeing the pasted item as I'd
expect, I instead see a small icon that seems to have 'PDF' at the top. If
I look at the properties of the icon, it seems to link to a
'cid:..........' number.

If, instead, I paste the copied material to a WordPad document, it appears
fine. I can then copy it from Wordpad into the new Outlook message with no
trouble.

Why is this happening, and what can be done about it?

Thanks,
Steve
