Weird password message?

This is maybe a dumb question but I'm sensing disaster
ahead - when I turn on my computer with newly installed
Win XP, after the first Win XP environment appears, a
popup tells me that "my password will expire in X days."
As of today, X = P. I don't remember even creating this
password and when I try passwords I would have likely
used, I'm told they're not it.

So, what happens when X - 0?? Will I just not be able to
boot up my computer? Is there a way to find lost
passwords?

Go to start/Run and type: control userpasswords2 and press OK. Click the
Advanced Tab and then click the Advanced Button. In the left side windows,
click Users. Right click the account you log in with and select Properties.
Place a check mark in the "Password never expires" box. Apply/OK.
