This is strange so just follow along. My pc is a Dell 8200 running Windows
XP home. I have a wireless network setup and i'm using the Netgear MR314
cable/dsl wireless router.

But here's the issue, my NIC is a GVC-Realtek 10/100 network adapter and the
LEDs are always red even when my internet connection is fine. Why is this?
I know that they are supposed to be green and yellow right? Any help would
be appreciated.

Thanks

Are you having any issues with the NIC connections or performance or are
you just curious?
Check with Dell's or the Realtek's support site (search using the EXACT
model number of the NIC).
Different NICs may have different behavior for the LEDs.

Actually i've been having problems with my connection sometimes. I have an
always on connection (DSL) but lately it seems that my connection is not
moving (for lack of better words). I'll check the LAN status window and i'm
neither sending or receiving packets but it's connected. I may not be
explaining it clearly but i hope someone can understand. I did check out
Realtek's site and it said that the LEDs are supposed to be "green" for
linked and "yellow" for activity. Something like that. I'm going to dig a
little deeper to see if i can find out more. Thanks.
