Weird networking problem!

I have an office LAN setup with several winxp laptops. All the computers on
the network are working fine, ie can share files and ADSL, but one laptop
from one specific network line does not. It cannot ping other computers and
cannot be pinged. There are no firewalls installed.

The weird thing is that if a different computer is connected to that line,
every works, at the same time, if that computer is connected to a different
line, everything works as well.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem may be or have I offended some
computer deity?

when you say "line" do you mean cable? also posting ipconfig /all here may
help.
