After much eamailing back and forth, HP has convinced me that the reason the
various tool windows (dmensions, exposure adjustment, B&W threshold, etc.) in
my PrecisionPro Scan software are stacking up on top of each other in the
center of the screen everytime I run the app, is due to an OS problem in the
registry. Could be. Before I reinstalled my HD, PrecisionPro always opened
with the tool windows in the place I last left them so I know its not some
the scanning app can't do. So, does the above give anybody any ideas of where
I might look in the registry to really get myself in trouble? tks all...

The software is unknown to me. All I can suggest is to check for
values saved in/under HKCU\Software\PrecisionPro Scan\
(or whatever the key is called). If found, are they being read and
written to? (REGMON.EXE from Sysinternals). Have you tried un-
installing, re-installing the software? No more specific ideas
here.
