Weird icons

On the desktop, i used to get the colorfull icons for different software such
was Word ane Excel, now all the icons have turned into little boxes with
blue headings.Can i switch back?

Do a "detect and repair" in an Office application, check "Restore my icons...."

You could download TweakUI, it has an icon repair utility.

I have tried Tweak UI and it does NOT work. Hen I do the detect and repair
it goes thru the download but ask me to insert Microsft Office 2003
editionwhich I do not have.
I am so lost....

Word and Excell are programs under MS Office 2003, so why do you want
pretty icons on your desktop of an application you do not have???
