Weird format of emails contains '¶'

I accidently pressed a couple of keys at the same time and the appearance of
my emails changed dramatically. All line breaks are marked '¶' and all spaces
are dots. It looks a bit like the old formatted Word-view of documents (if
that's what it is called in English).

Anyhow, I can't turn it off again and it is really annoying. Help anybody?
