Weird Failure

A remote system was reported as Non-Functionable. Upon return of the system
and performing lab test, I found the system to operate fine for 3 days.

Then it started rebooting in an endless loop. It never made it past the
POST test and would reboot. Found the USB Pen Drive was the cause. Removed
it and inserted a different one, and all was fine. When checking the
removed Pen drive, all the files were scrambled big time.

Has anyone seen this occur before.

Richard

Richard,

Not exactly, but we have some Lexar USB drives that, if plugged in on
powerup, prevent our BIOS from booting. Other drives (PNY, for example)
cause no problems at all.

Seen it also on one of MB's. It was working before but now something went wrong with USB controler on MB and athough it is working
in windows BIOS just can't pass POTS with USB disk pluged to computer.
The other same MB is working fine.

Slobodan
