I don't know if this is a configuration problem or a hardware problem.
I'm having a problem using the quickcam Communicate STX.
I'm trying to use it to make video-calls (I get the exact same problem
using MSN Messenger, Windows Messenger or Logitech Video Call).
The problem is that the person on the other end of the call gets very
clear video but loud static over the audio.
This happens when I establish a link to my daughter in California (I'm
in NJ) and it happens when I establish a link between my wife's PC
(which has the Quick Cam) and my PC in the other room.
The static happens when I set up a video call or an audio call.
The only way to make a video-call without the static is to use the video
feed from the Quick Cam but use the PC's microphone. When I do that I
get fairly good results but I'd rather only have to deal with one mic
hooked up to the PC. The quick cam tests ok using recorder and other
mic tests.
My daughter has a Quickcam and I'm not getting any kind of static from
her. How can I manage to send out a clear audio signal from my Quick
Cam?
The Quick Cam is hooked up to a brand new HP Pavillion A1200Y running
Windows XP. We hook up to the internet via a router and cable modem.
