Weird advertisement

When I went to click on my IE server, a window opened
which asked me to purchase a spyware program. I couldn't
get beyond the ad as it too the whole screen. What's up?
How do I get beyond this ad (if it is an add). It also
made my CD rom drive open and a notepad advised me that I
needed to purchase this program as my harddrive was able
to be accessed otherwise.
Anyone have any ideas?
