Tom

Hi all,
on one cell i have a date in mm/dd/yy format.
on the cell below i used the weekday function, but the days represented as
numbers.
How can I convert 2 to monday, 3 to tuesday etc..

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Andy!

Format date as ddd only works if date is on or after 1-March-1900
<vbg>

Format of date as ddd to get correct DoW is a result of a lucky
accident that inserted a Leap Year in 1900 when there wasn't one.
Similarly, WEEKDAY(A1) returns incorrectly during 1-Jan-1900 to (sic)
29-Feb-1900.

But I'm still looking for a case where this is important. I think I
might be a bit late!

Hi Tom!

Always pleased to help. But it was Andy who did the work. My comment was
more an explanation of why formatting WEEKDAY as ddd will return the correct
DoW.
