I just bought a website template, it comes in html for frontpage, and also a
psd version. Anyway, how do I take the template and edit it to have my
company information on it instead of the pre-fab crap? I have been scrolling
adobe all day for help with those beacuse I can't figure out how to edit in
Adobe at all, although I only know FP, their forums r useless! I love you
guys, always so helpful, hopefully u can help with this. When I put the
template in FP it just has boxes for all the pics and I can't get anything
line up even if I insert the pics into it. Any advice or if anyone knows how
to help, or a good resource let me know PLEASE!

Kim,

You could open the index.htm or index.html file from the template and
start editing it. It should also tell you about links to edit.

I don't know where you bought the template from so I can't be specific.
Alternatively, you could send me the whole zipped file so that I can
advice you further.

I have asked them, with no response, I hoped maybe someone here would have
the knowledge to help this newbie out. I think it is a simple process but I
have no idea how to change the logos and texts in templates.

The psd will be your graphics. You will edit them in any image editor that
can open and work with Photoshop's native file (psd or pdd). You must keep
the graphics the same dimensions as the originals...keep a copy of the
originals (!) somewhere. Then when you are happy with your changes to the
psds you will save them as jpg or gif files. Always work with the psd,
saving as psd as you make changes...only save as jpg when you're satisfied
with your changes.

You found Adobe's web useless? There is a wealth of info there!

Anyway, you will need to learn image editing to design webs anyway so get
used to it...what image editor are you using?

Ok, my email was returned, let me know when I can email it, is your account
limited to accepted certain addresses?

I have adobe photoshopCS and Adobe ImageReady, I didn't get the book with it,
which makes me wander for the info. I couldn't find the info on Adobe website
on how to simply change the logos in the pics, or the text on the buttons
etc.
I know I'm in way over my head Crash, and I know I need to figure this out
quick or I am dead in the water LOL, I'm trying man!

psd's are layered so usually the text will be on one layer and the image on
a background layer.
make a copy of one image to mess around with, open it in PS - you'll see
the layers. Edit the text on the text layer, edit the background on that
layer. If you are going to replace the image entirely, you can import a new
image to a new layer (pre-sized) then delete the background layer. Then save
as a new psd. Then flatten the layers and save as a jpg...if prompted to
save changes to the PSD after you have saved as jpg...don't save the
flattening change (leave the psd as is).

Then import the jpg into FP and place it into your layout from there - do
not change dimensions of the images make sure they are same as the originals
until you have more exp. with webdesign.
