Website ranking issue - Help.

I have a customer who wants to use google.com click ads. I have
e-mailed google to try to find out how my clients website would come
up as number one on the google adwords that appear at the side of a
search page. They have never responded. Has anyone had any
experience with google.com in this area?

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Is he prepared to spend a chunk of change,
and will his "conversion rate" ( or sales ratio per click through )
justify the cost.??
It may take 1000 "click throughs" to make one sale.
Is his product widely known or does it have an "Internet following,"
because Internet "surfers" are becoming more and more "skeptical.!!

Just playing "Devils Advocate" here, because I for one never
buy off of the "Net" unless the item has been recommended in
one of the many newsgroups I visit, or by a trusted acquaintance..

$5 to start. Looks like you can sign up online. Did you bug them via email
perhaps?

Looks like you can put in money and they'll just stop advertising when the
account is empty.

Now... if it will actually do anything for sales on the other hand...
