I have a website in my IE browser that won't delete. I've cleared the
histroy, temp files, cookies, ran norton, spyware, and adware with no luck.
All other sites clear besides this one.

For example, I clear the history and type "m" and the site pops up (giving
me the shortcut). What can I do?

Thanks

Yes, I have - it is still there. All other passwords, forms, and webpages
have been deleted besides this one. I can't get rid of it.

That was quick!
Did you really try all of the options?
Did you delete the History folder as suggested?

Hi. I have a similar problem. 2 internet sites always appear in the drop down
address bar. They are easily located by searching for them in the history
window but not found anywhere else. Interestingly, they are both google sites.

Here is IE's current state: Finding the history folder was a bear (for some
reason hidden files do not routinely show up on the explore window like they
did in previous versions. It's a feature I find very frustrating.) Once the
file was located, I tried to delete it however Windows would not let me. The
error messages said another program was using the file or that it was an
essential windows file that could not be deleted. I tried to delete the file
many times in different ways like deleting it as the current user, and as
another user.)

I'm running IE6, Windows XP. I have already tried clearing everything from
the internet options field including the cookies, files, history,
autocomplete forms, autocomplete passwords, and off line content. I've also
tried manually deleting the TypedURLs in the Registry with no luck. I've run
Norton Anti-Virus and AVG on the computer and they both turn out clean.
Neither program has ever detected a virus on this computer.

Any incite on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Why not try the method in the post you are replying to?

That may give you some insight into the problem.

Hi,
Try CCleaner - Crap Cleaner (freeware) from http://www.ccleaner.com/ Check
the History and Index.dat boxes when you run it.

Also...
Finding/seeing History folders: To make hidden and system files/folder
visible. Control Panel> Folder
Options> View> Check "Show hidden files and folders." Uncheck "Hide
protected operating system files."

Deleting a History folder may be easier if you startup in Safe Mode (without
networking.)

Hope this helps,
