Does anyone use the Webroot Window Washer utility? I had it for 98 and XP
but I cant get it to install in Vista. I contacted Webroot support and that
was about as useful as a rubber in a rest home. It is a nice program ( in my
opinion ) and I would appreciate any advice on getting this to work (
install ) on Vista. Thanks, Whitey
PS For the record, this Vista isn't as good as I hoped, but tolerable.

If the information you gave the support people is as bad as what you
gave here then you are about as useful as a rubber in a rest home too.

I use Vista Home Premium (32bit) with the Webroot Window Washer utility and
have no issues with it, though I seem to remember there were some when Vista
was first introduced. The latest version is 6.5.5 (build 155). I also use
CCleaner which is very good. Perhaps wrongly, I think of them as
complementary rather than interchangeable.

FWIW, my daily cleanup routine (usually in this order, but adapted according
to what I have been doing) is:

Window washer (which I run from the systray after every visit to the web)
Microsoft Disk Cleanup
Microsoft Link Check Wizard
CCleaner
Autoruns (for logon changes)
Ad-Aware 2008 (for malware - sometimes finds a tracking cookie)

Occasionally I run WinDefender or Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but I can't
remember either of them finding anything.
ESET Smart Security runs in the background but has almost never found
anything, even when doing an occasional deep and aggressive scan. I check
all my incoming mail for spam via MailWasher Pro.

I sometimes use Window Washer to clean free drive space on local or
removable media or to shred the contents of the Recycle Bin via the context
menu WW puts there.
