Why does my web page appear larger on some computers? I
am using FP2002 and am uploading using http. Is there
some trick I am missing to make the web the same size on
all computers?
Could be one of many things.
Firstly, and probably most likely: Resolution.
If you're using Windows, right click on your desktop, and select Properties.
Under Settings, you'll see Screen Area. You're probably at 1024x768. The
most popular size is 800x600, which makes stuff on screen look larger. It is
entirely up to the user what resolution they find comfortable.
You can design around this by putting your pages inside a fixed-width table.
I suggest setting it to 750 pixels wide. This will mean that the site will
display correctly at both resolutions, although will still appear in
different sizes.
Another thing is text size. Under Internet Explorer, you can change the size
of the font displayed. I think (THINK) this will only resize fonts that are
of a 'default' size in Frontpage. If you set your font at 10 points, I'm
under the impression it will display this size regardless of this setting.
Any other ideas anyone?
