I'm currently using Publisher to design my webpage. I haven't been able to
figure out how to add video clips to the site with Publisher... do I need to
purchase Frontpage? If not, any pointers how to add them in Publisher?

Also, if I do buy it, will I be able to copy my site I've already designed
and paste it into Frontpage? I can't get too excited to redo everything. I
appreciate any help.

Suggest you post this to the Publisher newsgroup.

Stop right now ... Publisher is NOT the correct tool for the job. See many
previous posts about this.

So should I purchase Frontpage? Again, am I able to copy and paste what I've
already designed from Publisher to Frontpage? Suggestions...

It would be much better, and will be easier, to start again in
FrontPage. You can copy and paste, but you will be copying and
pasting a great deal of code bloat, that simply is not required.
IMO, Publisher is the worst ever webpage editor.

The best thing is to make the pages in FP, then cut and paste the content
only from Publisher. when you do the CTRL-V thing in FP to paste, select the
option "copy text only". That should leave out all the old code and markup
and just copy the plain text.

One more question... as far as FrontPage, I don't know how to write code -
will I be able to utilize the program easily? I like Publisher's easy design
feature, just am disappointed I won't be able to insert video directly.

If you try to use FP the same way as you use Publisher, no, you will be in
for alot of frustration.

The more you know about HTML, the easier your learning curve will become.

Publisher was never meant for websites, despite any hype in the description
that you can do so. It is meant for paper publishing, or Adobe Acrobat
files. The code it makes for websites is poor at best and generally totally
awful. And while FP can be used as kind of a primitive word processor, you
should look around and read up on some at least very basic HTML principles -
at least the things NOT to do, like multiple nested tables.

From a tyro of one year's experience.

Yes, do try to learn some HTML. Even a basic knowledge can help.

I started just using FP, but I didn''t stay there long befroe I got into the
HTML behind it

But then again, I am an ex-programmer (retired), so learning the nuts and
bolts is my forte
