I have currently started to use Tiscali broadband but want to keep my
supanet e mail address. I can receive mail using office outlook but I
cannot send it. I have to go on to the web mail site. Therefore it
becomes a nusance as I will have to enter all the addresses and use
webmail only thus not be able to use the advantages of outlook.
Is there a way to solve this without a new e mail address
thanks

You can use Outlook with Tiscali. Open Outlook, go to Tools> Email
accounts>Add a new email account. You just need to fill in the boxes with
your account/log on name/password and server details as provided by Tiscali.

Read his post again, Mike. He wants to keep supanet, which he can't.

Tom,
I realised that, but Terry says he can recieve mail via Outlook, from whom?
It sounded from first reading it was with his old supanet address, which
would suggest he could still access his mail box on the supanet servers as
he would be unlikey to find mail for (e-mail address removed) on the Tiscali
server. If he is no longer a customer of supanet, how could this be
possible?
If he is in fact receiving mail through his new Tiscali account (which he
should be) for (e-mail address removed) in Outlook but is unable to send it the
same way, (has to use Tiscali web mail for sending) he needs to run and set
up the new email account wizard in Outlook and configure it for Tiscali as
it once was for Supanet.

try setting up your supanet smtp server in Outlook to authenticate.

Read his post again, Mike. He wants to keep supanet, which he can't.

Should be able to - I use an smtp server which does not belong to my ISP
simply by using smtp authentication......

If you are advocating the OP using a 'paid' mail service for which is no
more payment is being made, then perhaps you might want to acquaint the OP
with unsecured wireless networks too.. :-)

Mike,

Not at all, I am trying to help him to configure Outlook to send and receive
to his current ISP, which is Tiscali. Are you mixing me up with Gordon's
suggestion?

its easy to get mail but hard to send it becasue there are spam filters that
block
spamers.also block us.click tools (on outlook) accounts > mail then on right
side properties.leave incoming stuff alone.get "smtp" (outgoing) mail info
from Tiscali
change smtp (outgoing) settings.leave incoming alone.also make sure you
check marked my smtp requires authenication.it stops spamers.maybe your old
e mail didn't check but new does.
